Greater Media\'s Legendary WMMR-FM Grabs Two Marconi Award Nominations

/Broadcast News Articles/ - PHILADELPHIA, PA, July 28, 2005 - Greater Media, Inc. is pleased to announce WMMR-FM in Philadelphia has been nominated as a finalist in the "Legendary Station of the Year" and "Rock Station of the Year" categories in conjunction with the 2005 Marconi Awards.
Named after radio inventor and Nobel Prize winner Guglielmo Marconi, the awards are presented on an annual basis by the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) for excellence in radio in 22 categories.
John Fullam, Vice President/Market Manager of Greater Media Philadelphia stated, "Radio stations that stand the test of time are the result of extraordinary people who consistently connect their stations to the hearts and minds of their fans in an extraordinary way. WMMR over the past 37 years has been blessed by so many wonderful personalities who contributed to that and also helped shape rock radio for years to come."

He added, "The entire MMR team is thrilled to be nominated for Legendary Station of the Year and it's an honor to be in the company of these other nominees."

"I am humbled to consider the heritage and legacy of WMMR, in light of the Marconi Award nomination," said Bill Weston, WMMR Program Director. The winners in each category will be announced on September 22nd at the NAB Marconi Radio Awards Dinner and Show at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia.
